Unit
1: Using ICT in Developing 21st Century Skills/ICT in the 21st Century Skills
Unit I incorporates K-qw English Framework, 21st
Century Communication Skills, Learning activities to develop macro skills, Promoting
Digital Citizenship and Revisiting of language learning Plans. As future
educator it is necessary to integrate 21st century skills specially the use of
ICT. 21st century skills include Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration
and Communication. These 4C's when integrated to the lesson, with the aid of
technology students will be able to process the information and learning in a
short span of time.To further discuss a lesson technology become an effective
tool so that the learners can easily understand the lesson.
Aside from that effective teachers have different
strategies in delivering their lessons so that the students will have step by
step procedures in processing the information. Learning processes includes
Spiral progression, Interaction, Integration and Construction. I think spiral
progression is the best learning process because it starts with the basic to
the complex lesson. As a student I personally can learn if the lessons are easy
at first then it becomes difficult as the discussion continues. That is because
there's enough time given to the students to understand first the foundation of
the lesson. Unit I also incorporates different learning activities to develop
the macro skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening) of the learner. It
is given that for better development of these macro skills, ICT is very useful.
The integration of 21st century skills and ICT in developing macro skills
builds the best learners of the generation.
When entering the class make sure that you are
prepared for the lesson and capable of putting
some knowledge to them. Effective teachers are those who can share their knowledge
to their students once the students leave the four corners of the classroom.
UNIT II: BASIC PLAN FOR A LEARNING
PLAN IN ENGLISH/FILIPINO
Learning plan
is different from Lesson plan. Problem-based approach is different from Project-Based
approach. These four are different with one another but all of these are the
foundation of the plans in teaching. It maybe long-term or short-term such as
the lesson plan that is only the plan for a day and the learning plan which is
a life-long learning strategy. Unit II explains the difference among learning and
lesson plan.
Problem-based
approach helps the students to use their critical thinking skills to think and
solve for a particular problem. Problem-based is the best example for a spiral
progression learning process because it provides specific steps and later on
the output is more complex such as research. Project-based approach is a
learner-centered approach wherein the teacher will only be the facilitator and
the scaffolding of the learning process, it seeks for a product. Aside from the learning approaches the types of lesson plan had been tackled also.
UNIT
III: PRODUCTIVITY
SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS/ TOOLS FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING
An
effective teacher uses appropriate teaching strategies so that their students
can easily understand what is being taught to them. The productivity software
are very effective in delivering the lesson because the use of technology is
present and at the same time the students can enjoy it while they are studying.
The productivity soft wares creates or builds productive and creative students.
In today’s generation of modern
technologies learning the trend is not that hard, therefore the soft wares are
now accessible and the teachers can easily use it. In my own point of view the productivity soft wares are beneficial for both the teacher and students they can learn both
if they apply it to real world situations.
